YELA’s mission is to protect the world’s only remaining Ka (Terminalia carolinensis) forest and its great ecological wealth. Yela swamp and its surrounding ecosystems must be preserved and protected from all harmful activities and commercial developments in order to benefit its members, Kosraeans and people from around the world with its educational, cultural, historical, scientific, economic and environmental value for future generations.
